Fitness & Wellbeing Mentoring Programme

  • After extensive research and a wealth of significant experience working in residential care, education and the prison system, we have written our exclusive mentoring programme.
  • Our programme is now available for all settings, designed for those at risk of permanent exclusion, offending, re-offending or those who display challenging behaviour. The programme can be tailored to settings in various time frames, periods and frequency.
  • Our staff team consists of experts from prison education, teaching, mental health support and we use alternative methods to engage young people in education such as; fitness, sport, outreach and community learning and complementary mentoring.
  • The MPWR Programme will intercept exclusions and offending cycles by empowering individuals to set and achieve goals, understand & manage behaviour and by promoting self-esteem, confidence and positive mental health & wellbeing.
  • Our programme is designed to be delivered in an active manner, using fitness and movement as a mechanism to engage and build rapport. Using this method allows participants to feel comfortable and able to disclose, discuss and actively engage in advice, guidance and change.
  • Soon to be accredited by AQA.

Fitness & Wellbeing - Community

  • MPWR fitness & wellbeing sessions take place in our exclusive-use fully equipped fitness suite. Our classes and PT sessions are suitable for anyone age 5+ and are highly tailored to meet the needs of those who may find it difficult to engage or thrive in mainstream education or social spaces. Tailored group sessions and 1:1's available.
  • Through fitness we aim to engage children and young people in an activity which will encourage dedication, discipline, development, strength, confidence, self esteem and positive mental wellbeing. Unlike typical personal trainers and fitness services we aim for all our young people to become independent gym-goers.
  • MPWR have also partnered with a leading fitness training provider which means anyone with us at the age of 16 can enrol and become a qualified personal trainer leading straight into meaningful employment. With this partnership comes a big discount too!

MPWR Alternative Provision

  • MPWR Alternative Provision is a specialist provision designed for children and young people aged 5-16 who are at risk of permanent exclusion or who have already been excluded.
  • We offer short term respite provision, longer term part time provision with the aim to develop and prepare each individual to reintegrate into their original provision but we can also offer support to those with more complex needs requiring more intensive provision until the end of their studies. We are able to offer provision to those with or without EHCPs.
  • We offer tailored provision and curriculum based on needs, preferences and ambition and strive to ensure success, growth and meaningful progression. We can offer small group provision as well as 1:1 provision and a strong emphasis on life skills as well as academic achievement. Our provision is suitable for those attending school who may need additional support, those who require short term respite provision and those who struggle to access education in other provisions, we are also able to support children in care with specialist residential care professionals within the delivery team.

Internal Alternative Provision Pathway

  •  The demand for our Internal Alternative Provision Pathway and Respite Provision services is ever increasing. In order to prevent permanent exclusions, young people most at-risk need to receive intensive support. Our IAP allows your most at-risk students to access specialist provision while remaining in school.
  • Through our IAP service we offer tailored core education in small targeted groups, along with significant support to meet additional needs, with the aim of preparing our young people to be ‘classroom ready’ and integrate back into mainstream education.
  • Where the needs of a young person cannot be sufficiently met within a mainstream classroom we are able to provide a longer term placement within our IAP. All young people attending our IAP also access behaviour and wellbeing mentoring as well as additional fitness programme where desired.

Exclusion Prevention

  •  For those who are at risk of exclusion, we offer tailored, intensive support on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Support can include academic and/or pastoral.
  • A strong stepping stone for reintegration to avoid exclusion and encourage positive behaviour, regulation and communication.
  • Designed to be used as a week-long provision away from mainstream timetable or as a weekly addition to usual provision.
  • Individuals accessing this support are provided with the opportunity to discuss and understand their barriers, find and agree strategies for managing them positively and plan for effective and appropriate reintegration.
  • This service is most effective when referred at the earliest point of concern.
